Well when I removed stock Vit Transfer I unplugged two plugs at the top of transfer that run back into the harness on the auto ........
obviously 1 would be the 4WD light switch but what is the other, from memory 1 plug is black 1 is white ( although I could be wrong )
question is do I need to do anything with the Plug - that possibly isnt the activation light switch ............
cheers

Well Im gettin ready to get all the unused wiring sorted and tidied ......so if any1 can help with the above or has a Vit manual that they can look up for me to check what the other plug is that isnt the 4wd light switch .......would be much appreciated ..... I will get a new battery and give it a kick in the guts and check which 1 is the 4wd light but still concerned of what the other did or should be wired into ( or even if its needed)
I have already found that with the Vit speedo cable ,fits and screws up swheet to the hilux transfer

not that im too worried about how correct it will read but atleast its all hooked back up .......
cheers

It's the 4wd low switch as the A/T doesn't allow the O/D to function when in low.

Thanks cj ....
I may just wire it into a switch in the cabin as I'm doing with the O/d switch from the factory auto shifta as I now have a B&M shifta in its place due to space after the lux transfer was fitted
thanks again

Question
the vit was (is) 1.6l efi 4spd auto (3 & overdrive)
I have removed the vit transfer and fitted a Hilux transfer in its place ....
So I have to rewire the 4wd light switch .....and run the o/d wires that used to go to the stock shifta to a stand alone switch as Im now running a B&M shifta ...(no worries here )
Now the Vit has a second switch normally on the transfer which turns on the L (LOW range) light on the dash and apparently tells the puter for the auto to turn the overdrive funtion off in low ....I was going to run this to another switch ....but have thought why dont I splice it into the 4wd light switch so that when its in 4wd it turns the overdrive funtion off ( not that I will ever need the overdrive as it wont see the tar but I may aswell wire it in anyway
So question is will this do weird things to the puter with in any aspect ,due the wires being spliced and maybe voltage drops or somthing or will it damage the computer full stop
Or will it wrk with no worries
any info appreciated

I think it runs a separate computer for the auto but thats only going on what I can gather from a few discussions with people but that definately aint 100% not even 50% sure
Dan
but I have actually wired it up now .....

both switches to the 4wd trigger on the transfer and with a shagged battery to test it all seems ok everything is coming and goin off as per it should .......but Im still after a definate answer so I may ask a auto elec 2morra n c what they reckon
