Solid Axle Swap

Hey,
Chasing any info anyone has on how to do this and who i should talk to.
Thinking about using 82 ish hillux axles.

Over in America the jackeroo's are called Isuzu troopers. I have seen a fair few pics of SAS swaps over there using dana 44's. Might be worth a look through www.pirate4x4.com/forum and see if you can find any info. Though watch your posting, the members of the board doesn't play nice.

dude did a sas with lux diffs to a MU, I would imagine the swap is identical to a jackaroo as they share the same suspension don't they ?

either way, it should give you a good idea of what you have to do.

keeping in mind, lux diffs are SPOA.

gladstone is in QLD, making a SAS swap with lux diffs illegal ?

yarno off here did the sas to his mu and it work very good in the bush

my jacka doesnt need a solid axle to be better than your Pootroll.

the guy doesnt have a manual, its the whole wagon for sale.
an 89, 2 door. im pretty sure ts the correct model, but not 100% sure. i dont wanna buy them and get the wrong ones.

ask him to work it out for you.

one rotation of the wheel turns the tail shaft how many times?

will only be rough but bette than nothing?

it will be a difference between 4.5 and 4.77 tho.

even 4.5 would be better then youve got but.

should be able to tell the difference between 4 and a half and 4 and three quaters pretty easily.
