Air filtering help.

I have just come back from up in the Wattagans, and had all sorts of rtunning issues again. It was simply ( after a good clean out), that the Carb was full of crap. Now the air filter is fairly new, but the dust is so fine it more or less clogged it. I do not have a snorkel, but i thought you all may have some opinions on how to lower the amount of dust getting in? I thought that i could put something over the end of the air hose up the side of the panel, just to cut out some dust that gets to the filter itself, like one of the race socks they put on air trumpets. But would this be too much for the engine to handle. Thanks in advance for the help.

Are you using a std filter insert or K&N? I had heaps of problems with the K&N in the zook and went back to a standard one.

Check it is all sealed around the carby base and the top of the air intake hose and top cover.

On the intake side are you still taking in the air from around the battery area with the hose or from before?

It is taking the air from behind the battery. I have even locked off the warm air inlet. I use a regular paper filter, so i will just keep an eye on it, and change it more often, if required.
