no just means you hit a rut either too fast or just at the wrong angle.

I have not personally heard of it happening, but i can see it doing so, if the impact is hard enough. you may have bang the steering parts out of whack, so just make sure it is all straight before driving again. Leaf springs love working slowly, not abruptly. Check out the posts on "shocks 4 2" lift", as this hard shocks that were quite cheap mentioned.

This happend to me about two months ago mate. Went off the road into a ditch and the left front spring took the full brunt. Needed a new steering box, steering stabaliser, new spring, new shackle, new shock ( it was super shamshed up, like yours) and some panel beating!! cost me a grand mate!

I also hit a rut on the weekend, on stockton beach. Came over a small rise and didnt spot it till it was to late. Went in hard and put a 90 degree bend in my front spring. Also bent my shock, bottom shock mount, dented the sump where the diff hit it. Steerings a little bit hows it going now but will hopefully be alright. Had to change the spring there cos the wheel was jammed back againts the guard and couldnt straighten the spring.

yep... ive had this happen a couple of times, at the moment im driving on a stiff shock cause it has a bend in it from hitting the left side. The drop shackle fliped back and bent the top leaf but straightned out on the drive back home.
I did heavier damage in my old zook when i was caining through some mud and hit a concrete manhole inbedded in the mud doin about 60km/h... FUN... cost $550 to fix that 1

I have done this a couple of times in the wifes zook.
One needed the main leaf straightened in a hydro press the other time the spring was all good once the shackle was flipped around.
I have now made a set of anti inversion shackles.
