EFS Comfy Ride Suspension Lift Fitted on Hilux ( Not IFS )

Post by Brad »

Well afte a month or so of looking around I settled on the EFS suspension kit from Carrols Springs here in Brissy. Anyway I fitted it up today. It took just over 4hrs including fitting the bullbar. The kit came with everything I needed including longer front brake lines and adjustable torque rod.

Before Fitting there was :

15 mm clearance at the front stop and 85mm at the rear

After fitting there was :

140 mm clearance at the front stop and 180 mm at the rear.

Pics are worth 1000 words..

Before and After shots..

I will be upgrading to 33"s when I sort out what I am doing for a new power plant.... decisions decisions.. I took it out for a drive thsi arvo and was expecting it to be pretty hard since it had been in all of 5 minutes.. It drove great. Much nicer than before and flet a lot safer which is funny since the increase in ride height has altered the COG some what.

Now I just need to fit me long range tank (thanks Ruff :) ), get some auto lockers, bigger wheels and a power plant and she is all done ...

Brad, as you can see the other guys have picked up on the fact that your hilux is not IFS and it is fact a LIVE front axle (aka solid or beam front end)

IFS= Independent Front Suspension

NOT

I Feel Silly :lol: :lol:

Never mind it looks great anyway!!!!!!!!!! :shock:

Maybe he means EFS?

Carrolls have a brand called E.F.S = enhanced 4wd suspension
