My L28 is smoking when I loose the gas. It also smokes when I make a lot of rpm's. Do I need to replace my valve seals?

I had the same issue with my L28 a year ago, and then it had a leaking head gasket. They replaced vavles and guides when they did the gasket and that has fixed my smoke problem.
But it might be cheaper to buy a 2nd hand engine than getting your rebuilt. Yoiu might be able to get 3 or 4 of them if you're lucky

What colour is the smoke? if its black check your float level in the carby and if its blue its more than likely rings and if its only when u start or idle for a while it is probably valve stem seals...i have had the float problem just recently and now have had it fixed

it's blue. I don't have the standard carb anymore so it isn't my carburator.
I know that when Nissan FJ20 engines smoke, the valve seals are worn out.
