I've got a JL 10" sub (10W1v2) behind the back seat in my 2003 double cab Hilux in a home made fibreglass box that sounds alright. Friend of mine had 2 Pioneer 12" shallow mount subs (TS-SW1241D) installed behind his Frontier (Navara I think they're called in Oz) backseat that sound amazing.
I mounted my JL e4300 amp onto the back of my backseat to keep it higher in case any water gets in my cab.

I reckon in a box and fixed sitting on the back seat. Looked at putting in a sub ages ago, but wasn't worth the effort as far as I was concerned. Maybe the newer luxes have more room back there, but in the LN106 there is sweet bugger all.

i had a 12" Coustic sub in a box that just sat on the back seat right behind me, with an amp mounted to the firewall behind the back seat. The sub was good because it was easy to plug / unplug if you needed all 5 seats. never had a problem with it moving around or Johnny Q. Law either... Also had an xbox mounted on the floor behind my seat and a 7" TV in the dash

yeah i had figured that a custom box was gonna be the way to go.
i have been offered one of those pioneer shallow mount subs fairly cheap,
im a chippy so a custom box shouldnt be to much trouble...
cheers guys,

if you are short on space have a look at the 8 inch subs they sell at jaycar
i had one behind the seat in my triton dc and it went well
just fill the box up with dacron matting makes em doof alot harder

I tried all kinds of butchery to get my old kicker sub and box to fit into the dual cab 2002 lux but it just wouldnt happen.
Im going to try using one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=009
If it doesnt fit behind the back seat im sure it will fit under the drivers seat! Only needs a 0.5 cubic foot box to run which is really tiny.
Was someone sayin they can get these cheap?? Group buy?!?!?
Cheers
