:? can some1 give sum advice please,on engel posi-fit(APAN) female connection is it best to have negative back to battery i think it has a fuse like on thepostive, or wire the negwire to the body by cutting the cord shorter, and if neg wire is to the body do i keep the fuse on the neg wire as well., i think this engel cable is 6mm, i read about some wire size controversy , what would the best size to use, thanks.

First I dont think the engel wire is 6mm - strip a bit back as the insulation is very thick on those, the wire itself is more like 4mm (still more than big enough for the job though)!

Cut both fuses off the socket. Extend the +ve wire to the battery and fuse it at the battery end with a good quality inline fuse holder.
Run the -ve wire to a good earth point near the socket (you'll probably need to extend it though as they are pretty short.)

Note that a good earth point does not include a tek screw into a thin steel panel! Find an existing threaded hole and use that.

thanks mate ,i noticed on the 4 mtr cord its AWG # 16/1.25mmsq. in the engel manual that size is recommended for 24 volt connection less than 6mtr long. for the 12 voltless than 6 mtr long it states to use AWG # 14/2.1mmsq i dont know if they sell that in the 4 mtr cord,so its good to be aware of this. and bugger it ill just get some 6mm and wire up myself.thanks for your help.
