It has 27K on it so far & is about to head off on some serious touring - no, not 4by stuff but will include some offroad.

Towing a Coromal Capri/Pioneer 20' (6m) tandem off road capable full caravan.... weighing about 2.5t all up. Had a short run 3 weeks ago with no problems other than one occasion where I had to do a hill start after stopping to open a closed gate. First gear & no movement after 3 attempts - with higher revs each time until the clutch eventually slipped... leaving the inevitable burnt smell. Then, into low range & it was a breeze.

Which made me think.

Perhaps it might be worth considering a heavy duty clutch replacement.

Have absoloutely no knowledge about these at all so am open to all ideas & suggestions..... cost factors for fitting would also be helpfull.

I was quoted (just before my trip to the Birdsville Races 2 months ago) $800 fitted for an aftermarket heavy duty clutch from 'Direct Clutch' in Brisbane (Albion). I think this is a fair price for such a product being fitted.

I decided against it purely because old mate tested my clutch and said it'd make it to the Simpson and back no worries at all.

I'll certainly be going here when it is cactus though.

Cheers
