was at the show today and spoke to a bloke who adds a coil between the axle and the body
he syas they ride a shit lot better get better articulation and u can run shit leaf spring coz the leaves are then only used to locate the diffs
anyone heard of this system????
anyone using this systems????
he charges 650 for rear and 750 for front fitted
he is racv approved and all
just wanted to know some more about this system

A mate of mine runs this set up on his hilux, he said it worked well
but it is only standard height and it cost him $3500
I reckon he got ripped

Im in the process of doin this with the zook, gonna use rangie coils and remove 2 leaves. Just making up a custom plate top and bottom to support the spring. Ive seen it done on a few hiluxes, seems to work well.

yeh this bloke does em for 1400 all round incl fitting and all bits and pieces
i wanna decent lift on me 60 so i wanna mayebe get extnd coils?

One of the guys in our club (Kamikaze in the lunch wagon for those that know him) is running coils/leaves in a 75 trayback. He canes the crap out of them, and thinks the ride is fantastic. Took a couple of goes to sort the spring packs, but he's more than happy. Lived with them at least 3 years now. I think they were weld on perches for the coils

he says u dont have to worry bout spring packs coz they just locate the axle then and they only take 20% of the load
personally i think it is a preety good system

I don't see how you can get 5-10cm lift without changing to a longer leaf spring pack. When you lift a car with arched springs you are using a longer spring. Seems a bit half arsed to me. Either get a well sorted leaf spring or go the whole hog and do a coil swap. This might work for added load carrying but for anything else seems to be a waste of $$$$

thats what i sed to him
i sed if i wanted to lift it more i could just get longer shackles
he likes to perform this swap on cars with buggered leaves
that i think is where he is getting his lift from
putting the coils on a set of shit worn out leaves
he showed me somepics e had a fully loaded 60 and wasnt even sagging in the rear
thats with a boat on top caravan and a moty on the front
