umm yes and no anything can be modded to work but a straight boltup possibly not

the thomas winch drives use a solid 19mm steel shaft whereas the genuine toyota use like a mini driveshaft

basically if the drive unit has a 4 bolt flange on it and the shafts for the winch are just steel rod it wont all directly bolt together

thanks for the help mate,
it is a thomas PTO and has a small uni joint then a hollow piece of pipe about 10-15cms long.
im guessing that this wouldnt be a bolt up fit?

If the PTO unit is off a 40 series, I don't think it'll fit a 78 series box - I've been told the pattern is completely different. I have also heard that some later model cruiser transfers don't even have the idler gear in them to drive the PTO box.

I think you'll find that the radiator sits very low on the 78/79series, making PTO fitment very difficult. I have a mate fitting one at the moment.

couple of these we have at work have a chain drive from the PTO shaft to the winch input shaft. it's all a bit hokey.

in answer to the original question, no it won't fit.
