Hi All, I'm seriously looking at my lift now so I rang Wilkinsons and they quoted me $288 for a set of king springs which will give me a 40mm lift. They said I can use my existing shocks and struts and I will only improve ride quality by upgrading them they won't add to the travel or lift.
Does this sound rite and would this be a good first step at doing my lift? What else am i likely to need?

whats the rig in question?
i run 2" kings under my 413, reckon if i hadn't altered the shocks i'd have been unhappy...
check the spring rate as compared to your running rate 2, can make for a very bumpy ride if the springs set to hard..

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention, It's a LWB VITARA. It only has standard shocks which i thought would limit my travel. The springs are built for lwb Vitaras though. Should I just go ahead with them and get the shocks done later. I plan to run 30" tires as they won't compromise my pickup too much and won't need guard cutting will they.
What size tires are 30" by the way and could i possibally fit 31"s under there without cutting the guards?

I not heaps up with Vitaras, but on any live axle if you add taller coils, you need to match the shocks, or they will limit travel. You can use the STD shocks for a while, but you run the risk of destroying them offroad when you flex up. As for tyres, hopefully someone will help more, but what do you mean what size tyres are 30". 30" refers to the diamiter of the tyre. So its 30" tall. But this varys, as a tyre rated at 31" may measure less, and can vary even more with rim and pressure. I know my road tyres (31 MTR's) measured smaller than stated, and my swampers measure pretty true to stated diamiter. Width varys between manucaruteres and tyre tread patterns. Usually a 30x9.5 is common. I know good year make this size. Someone with a bit more idea bout Vits will be more help, or take a trip through the Vitara bible at the top of the page. Use the links in my post as the top ones are inoperative now.

Witht the size i meant as in 225/15.
So with the king springs I should get some Mazda 626 shocks to match in the rear and just flip my strut mounts to compensate in the front till I can afford new ones.
So I'm up for $288 + a set of rear Mazda 626 shocks? what am I likely to pay for those? Thanks, Ben
