Whe wleding two peices of RHS together is there anything i should do to stop it rusting on the inside?
Thought i'd ask before spraying lanolin where i am welding since i have never done it before (welding that is).

Yep that will work however there have been accidents when the can of spray has ignited so care needs to be taken with regards to any source of sparks or hot metal around the place.

Dont spray anything on it before welding in fact clean it with a wire brush then weld if you fully weld all the way around it shouldnt rust inside in your life time then just gal paint the outside

If you're welding it up air tight make sure it's free and dry from any liquid or moisture on the insides of the RHS otherwise it will pressurise from the steam/gas expansion and blow pinholes in the final sealing weld.

And if you plan on getting it galvinised make sure you dont have any sealed air tight spaces because they wont be pretty when they are done. Because the air inside heats up and expands and it will rupture
