Navara D21 Steering problems

I posted a similar message on Downunders a few days ago but received not one response, so I'm hoping someone here will be a Navara Guru.
The D21 Steering is recognised to be a weak point of the vehicle and in the US Calmini and L&P Performance both do steering upgrade kits, which are unfortunately for Left Hand drive vehicles only. They are both totally different types of kit but both solve most of the inherent problems of the standard steering. Each uses a stronger and professionally braced Idler arm and a much stronger Cross Rod, doing away with the double Ball Joints on the Cross Rod and supposedly bump steer, tram tracking and tyre wear problems are eliminated.

Does anyone know of a kit available in Australia or even someone who may be prpared to make up one?

I doubt you'll have any luck with this. I approached Calmini three years ago and they told me that they were developing a right hand drive version for their D21 steering kit. But, I guess the market is just too small. Have a look at the forum on 4x4parts.com. Most things in existense for D21 are covered there and the guys on the forum are very helpful.

A custom fab job might end up being quite expensive.

The Calmini kit is LHD-only, but the L&P centerlink is symmetrical and will work in RHD as well. In fact, the only thing from the L&P kit you couldn't use is the idler arm brace.
Honestly, the centerlink is really all you should need, the beefed-up pitman and idler are overkill. I have their centerlink for my Xterra (mine was the first they made in fact) and it has held up well. I'd go for it...

Thanks for that guys. Yes, L&P have confirmed their system is good for RHD. They do have a deposit on the centre link return of $100US, and when I add freight it works out a little expensive, so was hoping to source an Aus version. I have spoken to Calminis rep in Perth and he reckons he is developing something for a Navara he's got booked in for early November and I should ring him again then and he will definitely have something, so I'm crossing my fingers.
Cheers,
