Hi guys,

Quick answers please

I am wiring up my truck before I go away on Sunday and I need to find a large 12V relay with bolt type terminals rather then the normal blade type. I have a 24V one in place at the moment which I was told will pull in on 12V but it doesn't. The main terminals are 8mm and the signals are 4 or 5mm, not sure of the brand I have at the moment.

I am using it with a switch to control a couple of outlets in the rear for my fridge etc., and to charge the battery in my camper.

I need something tomorrow in Brisbane and was considering a winch relay what do you guys think.

You could try a starter solenoid from a Ride-on mower, will handle plenty of amps and only be about $20-25.

Any chance of a pic of this relay?

Have a look through the Ashdown catalogues for relays (fuses section 2 and 3) and see if they have what you're looking for.

Not sure if they sell to the public though so you might have to order through an auto elec.
Failing that go see a good auto elec anyway, he should be able to direct you to a supplier.

Heys some dodgy pics of what I've got, still in the vehicle wired up.

try a cheap dual batt solenoid. bolt connections, and can handle 120 plus amp.
prob cost $20-30

Did you find anything on the Ashdown catalogue that will suit?

go and see bill at tjm coppers plains the should have some cheaP dual batt relays

mate any decent sparky or auto electrical joint will have 12v silver plated continuous duty solenoids similar to what you have in 24volt. they cost about20 - 30 bucks and will handle an ungodly amount of current.

i have an old winch relay that will do the job but i'm in ipswich
