OK guys, I've got a LWB Vitara and was wondering weather I could fit 30" tires under her with a 40mm suspension lift and not having to trim the guards.

You will probably need 20mm coil spacers then the 30's will fit perfect.

nope, need about an 1" body, or a bit more suspension lift. unless you want to remould the inside of your front guards.

Ok then, the reason i dont want any more lift is that in W.A. the regs are really strict on height. What would be the biggest I can go then?

If you are only going to have 2" sus lift then look at 235 size tires I had a set under my old LWB vit with a OME 2" sus lift and the only noise I got
was on full lock but you can stop that the steering adjustment.

you could do a 1" body lift and it is hard to notice, but enough to reduce complications in fitting 30's to you truck. a 1" alloy spacer between your body mounts isn't easily noticed, and won't comprimise strength. its easy to fit and would solve your problems.

- as 12uke said, 235's will fit with abit of lift, (probably fit with no lift), i fit 235 mtr with no lift...just... its a good size if you only do a little offroading but still want a 4wdrive which can go places. a half decent set of 235 4wd all terrains tyres will do most of the work for you and still look good .. stepping up to 30's obviously gives more clearance all round, more traction etc etc

So are a 235 a 29"? The other complication is the spare but im thinking of just getting a set of 4 and using my 215 as a spare on the road and maybee having one for off road or untill i reweld the spare bracket, or will it fit without welding?

So in the 235 what are a good brand which i should consider?

I put 235/75 R15's on my LWB with a 2" lift. Only rubbing I got anywhere was rear left coz that spring was a little shorter to balance out the extra weight on driver's side. If you have the same problem, then a 1/2" coil spacer will sort it.

Don't waste your time or money lifting it with coil spacers only. Search the Zook bible for info on what springs from other vehicles will do the job for you.

yes a 235 or even 30-31 will fit with no mod to the carrier on a 96 model any way not sure on the late ones

I have 30" on my SWB and NO lift and no rubbing..

( I have added lift now though )
