Has anyone had an lpg conversion done on a 100 series V8 or know of any problems associated with the job?

I tried to do a search and couldn't find what I was looking for, any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Mark.

From what I've heard, Toyota recommend NOT to convert the V8 to LPG. They claim the warranty will be voided.

Yer thats what they said to me to but they also said the same for the 80 series cruisers and you see heaps of them running around with gas on so I don't know if it safe to do the conversion or not?

I'm just wanting to know if anyone has it on or know's of anyone and or any problems that may have arrisen from it being installed.

thanks

Mark.

From what I have read in past threads on here, if you get even minor backfires from the gas setup it will bend rods on the v8 quite easily, where as the older 6 didnt have this problem.

Apparently newer gas systems are better and do not cause any problems on the v8, but then, your taking the gas peoples word for it.

hey mark, ray here, apparently nissan void the warranty to, a bloke i work with, had a GU converted onto gas and the motor shit itself, (not because of the gas), and nissan wouldn't cover it because it had been running on gas for 7 months, expensive experience,

I don't reckon the gas conversion will be anywhere as attractive after the government start charging fuel excist on LPG in the near future.

I think thats why they are trying to push everyone onto LPG now before the excist is brought in.

12.5cents is hardly something to worry about when fuel prices are going to continue to rise anyway.

Been there and done the research....

Just droped my 100series V8 Landcruiser in to get gas fitted this morning....

After much research and speaking to lot's of people in the know, I have chosen to go with the Parnell VSI (Vapour Sequential Injection) system.... Not cheap ($4700) but reportedly the best injected system on the market (Please don't flame me if you disagree!!)....

As for warranty there seems to be a lot of conjecture here.... Legally if the dealer refuses warranty because of gas it's up to the customer to prove beyond doubt that the gas did not contribute to the warranty claim....

All that into consideration, my local Toyota Dealer's Workshop Manager is waiting for me to get mine done so he can see how it goes before doing his!!

If anyone wants more info PM me....
