Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Ok, never got around to finshing this project off.

Have the compressor set up for the lockers and have a coupling thingy (Female) comming out of the end ready to take a hose for airing up tyres.

What should I be buying for the set up?

And please help us with the tech names of things so I can talk shop to the hose guy

I guess I need from Compressor end to tyre end.........

Male attachment thing for the female coupling that I have (no idea of its name) It has the push button thing to release what ever gets stuck in it.

Hose

Tyre end? Want a pressure gage and something to lock onto the wheel. I guess I want a T piece to run both bits, looked at an attachment in repco for airing up tyres, but you have to hold on to it. With only a small electric compresor, I want something that just clips onto the wheel like the ones I have seen from the big red compressors.

Anyway, that would have to be the most low tech post ever!!!!

Can someone steer me in the right direction?

head down to your nearest servo.

Normally at the air/water area, te have a nicly set up hose for all your needs, can come with hose, attachments and even a reel if your lucky, it used to be a common thing round my area, but now you have to go inside and ask to borrow their shiat.

If you're only after a cheap set up have a look in Big W and you'll find they've got a kit including a coily hose and lots of different m + f connectors, air gun etc for only $19.95. All you need to do then is choose what sort of tyre inflator you want, they're usually $20-$30 for cheapies with a guage built in.

hears my setup.. got the difflock doovy commin out, then the female conector.. got the coily hose with the male to plug into compresser, then the gauge and inflator on the other end, just screwed on...

one thing, make sure all conections are tight and u use plumers tape so they dont leak..

The tyre hose kit from ARB is only $48 for a 6m hose. I don't know how much cheaper it would be to do yourself by the time you drag your ass halfway across town to find the bits

supercheap do a pistol grip gun thing with a guage on it for about $20. bend up a bit of flatbar to make a little clamp to old the trigger down and you are set.
Be wary of the coily hoses, the ARB machine gets hot enough to melt some of them..

The Coil Hose we use is a special one designed for the LOW temp of Co2, so be aware of this when using it on a compressor etc.

Scuba has a lot higher (more dangerous) pressure.

Nitrogen Volume is less than co2, IE same size bottle, you will fill less tyres than a Co2 Bottle.

whats the price to refil the CO2 tanks?

that system bogged posted up might not be as powerful as the CO2, but at least it doesn't cost anything after the initial outlay

Also, use it with the Shower Unit's water pump and Massojet to clean the wheels // tyres / lights etc onthe trail for the drive home etc...

I got two Cyclone air compressors connected together via some 8mm Festo airline. From one of them is a female snap lock fitting which I plug in either the 6 mtr ARB airline or the coily one that came with the compressors. The coily one has a built in pressure gauge. On the end of the ARB one I fitted a female airline fitting which I can plug in all sorts of stuff that have a male fitting. I also made up a pressure guage with a bleed valve that plugs into the ARB airline this also doubles as a tyre deflator. I used a Jamec Pem tyre tube fitting (has a spring loaded clamp that locks it onto the valve) much better than the ARB ones. The two pumps combined push 75 ltr/min and cost $90 Ea (ARB is 29ltr/min $350).
The ARB compressor is hooked up to an air tank just for the rear locker but I can still plug either of the airlines into it to air up if I have to.
I can air up the 34" JT's from 15-30PSI in about 3-4 mins each.

It's about two thirds done now still waiting on some little pissy bits & pieces from Japan so they can finish it off.
Their also doing some other stuff for me

Should be a few more weeks with the extra stuff to be done.

thats the best air up system ive seen grabbed the piccys way back when you posted them

this is how i plan to do and run my arm up system but will be runnin my lockers offa it too and have a high pressure (train-air tank) :shock:
