Outer Limits 4x4 Board

like every one else these days looking in to turboing my tb42 i am a mechanic so going to do the work my self and im going to do it right the first time. The things is tb42s run a 8.5:1 comp ratio which is great for a turbo but i want to run much higher boost than 5-6psi and i want to run some were around 17-18psi and get the thing thumping.And don't think that the engine will handle that much pound for long so the question is anyone know where i can get a decomp plate from or am i going to have to fork out the money and get on made? it would only take 3-4 hours to slap one in

Cant you just fit 2 head gaskets??

as far is i know the stock bottom end can happily hold over 10 with standard compression. just dont let it ping and dont rev them hard

wouldnt you make same power on stock compression and 12 pound boost as lowered on 18 or so? and have more low down tourque?

fitting 2 head gaskets is an option but like i said i want to do it properly and fitting two head gaskets is just asking for trouble as i would proberly find that running straight gas with high boost will burn out in between gaskets and i don't want to do that when i am stuck in the middle of the bush the reason i also want to decompress is so that i am not putting so much stress on things

first good move . first the best turbo eng is a hi comption one with the right intercooler and timing but it is harder to do that way . if u wont to do it right then get your self a book called {maxum boost} not sure how to spell can get off the net at a good price and read it is gosable for us turbo boys then u will have all the answers mate

These engines dont need decompressing, they will run over 20 psi happily if set up correctly ie; good spark, intercooling and tuning.
