My car wont start. When the key is turned a single click comes from the starter relay. I swapped that over but it still does it.

Im registering 12v at the starter motor on the positive lead from the battery but it wont turn.

If I arc across the terminals on the starter itself the starter motor spins but doesnt engage the flywheel. This makes me think its my solenoid.

My questions are: Is a solenoid rebuildable? If so, whats needed? Otherwise where would I find a replacement solenoid for a 4AGE corolla motor?
Is there something obvious Im missing? Ive cleaned and inspected all contacts and replaced the earth lead from the battery with a thicker one so Im definitely getting a good earth. The battery itself also seems fine.

i recently bought a solenoid rebuild kit from aussie auto for $20 it suits a bosh starter motor the one i got didn't fit so i took my solenoid off gave them the part no and they got a new one in for $40.

so i guess you could try that they only had rebuild kits for bosh motors but maybe repco or the likes will have others
