I have been on the look out for info on SWB GU's just to be a bit diferent and have found very little on them. I though i would post up some links about them just to spread the word and maybe get some imported. They can get the likes of sylvias, 180sx's and such here in droves - why not a SWB GU

So to raise interest here is a link to a French site that had a few shots of SWB GU's. http://www.patrol-gr.net/galerie.php
I have seen a few floating around here on OL too but a search resulted in 3004 matches and i'm not sorting through that. Anyone else had this idea or any leads etc on how to where to and how much etc??

they just cant be complianced.

only option would be to get one over here, put it on a late model shorty chassis or just cut number which is a little bit illegal...

Importation laws require a vehicle to be 15 years or older, or significantly different from any model sold in AUS. You could argue that SWB is significantly different, and you would lose that argument.

the laws changed as of about 2 years ago? before that it was much easier to get imports in.

Are they still bringing in surfs that are < 15 years old?

They are pretty common in places like Dubai. Not a problem finding them just getting them here.
