GUIV Diesel Gas Installed today

I just thought I would update you all on my Diesel Gas install today. It was finished in the promised 2 days and the difference is huge. I still have to install the 3" system that is on it's way from Vortex, and this should improve the performance again.
Taking off is heaps better( I still dont have a dtronic, still looking for one second hand) and the running in top gear with my manual torque converter lockup is heaps better, no more hunting for another gear on hills. Mid range is blunted by the auto I think, so it does seem to rev out a bit quicker but I did not notice a bigger push in the back as such.
On my local Hill it went from 22 seconds from bottom to topstarting at 60km/hr to 15 seconds which is a huge improvement. I will record the top speeds tomorrow.
I am still considering an air to water intercooler but will wait until I install a dtronic or similar.

is the EGR blocked off?
have you got a egt sensor? would like to know what the exaust temps of these are and compare stock, with EGR off and lpg on temps.

egt should be installed next week, and egr is being blocked tomorrow

I second that call - only for curiosity.
It would be nice to have a real world example of EGTs with/without EGR.
Consider it a favour to lots of your OL mates.

Yeah no worries. I have a translated version of some french instructions on altering the wastegate settings once the egr is block due to
Quote" the fact of neutralizing the valve will modify slightly the pressure of admission and will react on the control of turbo."
they dont explain what happens to the boost (up or down) just how to rectify the "modification", but I have no idea what the last bit of the modifiction means.
After explaining how to remove the wastgate and indicating which screw needs turning, they proceed to help with instructions on the best tool for the job of removing the clip on the wastegate,in very french english,
"To limit the damage I suggest you borrowing discreetly from Madam (while it makes the races)
a hook of embroidery of 2,5. I did not find better." UHHHA(my poor french inpression)
they then state that once you have blocked the egr and made a minor ajustment,
" To carry out a test on 4 or 5 km with mode stabilized of 2700 rpm

If not 1/3 of turn moreover on the screw (2/3 turn on the whole)
Test

Huh???? and then HUh???? and then WTBHAYTA, (what the bloody hell are you talking about)
So I was going to install a boost gauge before I block it and test the boost before and after to make sure my ajustment of the wastegate is good and won't
"heats chestnuts in the corner" or is that what you do while waiting for it to cool down.
So as I have already ordered an EGT I will for the benefit of all those interested install that as well.
I will do it before I install the new 3" and give results before and after as the vortex guys recon the new muffer will accelerate the exhaust flow out and reduce EGT by 50 degrees or so anyway. I wait with baited breath because it certainly wasnt the cheapest 3" around.

i've seen that mod written up somewhere. i don't think its anything to do with the EGR. it simply makes the boost come on sooner.

Update
I installed the 3" dump pipe and 3" system today with the vortex muffler,
HUGE, HUGE, HUGE difference. I cannot believe the mid range and top end now, It is like a V8 without the noise, as the new system seems about as quiet as the factory system.
without the gas on it helps a little but with the gas it AWESOME!!!
I'm still looking for some low down off boost performance. It is heaps better now than factory but enough is never enough. A Dtronic should fix this, so if anyone has a second hand one for sale let me know.
I have installed the EGT gauge and boost gauge today and then managed to plug in the power plug of the boost gauge to the sensor input................DOH............... and smoke came out of the box, and as my old dad used to say you can put smoke back in the box. So I will endevour to fix it soon, as I am interested in the boost changes with the blocking of the EGR.
Next update I will give EGT temp for my local hill, then I will block the EGR and retest,

depending on type of gas system you could wind the gas up when its off boost. more power and it wil bring boost on sooner. however you will need to use the EGT to tune it (assuming the sytem can tune that way). also it may take away the enconomy advantage of the gas.

That sound like it may work. I can have the system ajusted, it is programable, I will discuss with the Dieselgas guys now that I have a EGT gauge

dos the ECU for the gas have a throttle input?
if so you might be able to set it to increse gas only when high% of throttle and no boost.
