Hi Everyone,

Having been at the 4x4 show today (sorry didnt take my camera or would have put some pics up), I have found that Pro Comp are running a buy 3 get 1 free promo.

I am looking for tyres for my Surf in 235/75 R15 and have only heard good things about the Pro Comp's.

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with their tyres, i was originally looking at getting all terrains as i thought that the mud's would be too noisy.

The dealers tell me that they are not as noisy as other muds and i figured that getting muds would be better because i cant really afford to have two sets of rims.

Can anyone tell me what tyres they are running and if they have found them too noisy too have a conversation in the cab or talk on the UHF, also is it worth spending the extra $40 on each tyre.

thanks in advance

Brett

I have had 2 sets of X-Terrains and was very happy with them.
Not as noisy as the previous muds I had. Only damaged 1 tyre in 3 years of off road.

Procomp muds wear better than anything else I've had, I had 35's which I brought second hand and got about 90,000k's+ out of em. Would definately give the X-Terrains a go next.

I run 285/75 R16 (33") muds for roadies on my troopy. They seem pretty noisy on some surfaces, but nothing that will stop you having a conversation - and certainly nothing compared to a simex. They seem noisier at 80 than 100km/h.

My brother has them on his hilux at the moment and apparently thay're ALOT quieter - must be the weight dfference.

They havn't shown any signs of wear in the ~5000km that i've run them - i brought them with 4000km on them and they still look new.

I ran ProComp MTs for a while and couldn't have been happier with them. Good off road and brilliant on road (factory siped, so bloody good in the wet). I ran BFG MTs next and they really sucked in comparison. I'd definitely suggest the ProComp MTs.

I had a set of procomp muds and wouldnt touch them again. The wear rate was horrible and when I went back and showed them they were even supprised. As for noise they are no better than the muds I have had in the past.

I wouldnt call their buy 3 get one free offer great. When you see the price per tyre they are not the best priced tyre out there, even when you take in consideration the 4th the tyre.

I recently paid $300ea for a set of BFG 305 muds, this still beats the procomps in price.

Just my experience though.
