ARB Compressor Install

Looking to install an ARB air compressor into an engine bay of an 80 series. Did some searching and found some info, but no pictures etc

Can't go on the drivers side due to the cruise control box.

I know about the slee bracket and manifold but that is getting a bit expensive.

So what I want is the easiest, most simple way to put it on the passanger side. I have twin batteries, so needs to be up near the firewall.

I would really like pictures of peoples installs, bracket templates etc etc.

I rekon every install is going to be different.

I would just stick it where i want it and start making things to hold it there.

I have seen a compressor installed in a 79series TD ute and it was up where you describe, passenger side firewall, but then the engine bays are significantly different(and smaller) than a 80 series

put it in the cab...under the seat or something...they dont much like water or mud and in the cab they stay protected.

Yeah heard of people putting it in the back where the amp was, but I am still leaning towards under the bonnet.

Definitely don't want it under the front seat.

Might just have to get some metal and make a half arsed template for someone with some talent to follow.

I tried to find a place for a Twine shower pump under the bonnet of my 80 petrol and gave up. There just isn't anywhere to fit it, so I imagine you'll have the same problem with the compressor.

I ended up mounting the pump under the bullbar.

Seems like you have same kind of compressor that I have, 20 litres at 0 to 8 bar about 9 and half minutes, pretty shit I think...

I put my compressor in the passenger side in my 80 fitts really good



Here's where I put the commpresser switch

And here's the rear locker switch the front locker switch will go next to it when TJM bring out the front one

as you can see in the above photo I moved the dimmer switch to under the heater controls so I could use the location for the compresser switch

put it in the rear quarter panel if it not a 7 seater or put it under the backseat

I ended up just getting bracket made up and putting it on the passanger side in a gap that was there. Didn't have to move anything around, just used an already existing bolt and then a new one through the guard, was simple, neat and works just fine.
