Hey there andrew,
i am just in the process of cutting my 80 down to a dual-cab and let me tell you it is gonna be s#$t hot when all finished.
I have been competing in queensland all this year now with one rd to go of the qld winch challenge, so as you can guess the car has copped a canning.
Both rear quarter panels were almost non-existent and had been bashhed back into shape that many times it's not funny, so we just decided that it was time to go, and out we came with the nine-inch grinder and well the rest is history.
We are in the latter stages now just trying to design a tray that is gonna be user friendly and practical aswell, but it's only about 3-4ft long so it's gonna be difficult.
leaving the back doors on has made it a lot easier, we could've had the cut itself done in a weekend, it's just all the peicing back together of everything else that takes the time,we have cut the back of the chassis of but have re-used the crossbrace back the shorter chassis for extra strength.
this has been a very simple conversion from start to finish and pretty in-expensive.
