just got my hands on a gu and thinking of going 38 or 40s with a 7" lift

not looking for big articulation, just want a big rig for doing some bog holes and beach driving

im fitting a moddified v8 so turning them wont be a problem

anyone got any pics please

thanks

Duncan from Macquarie4x4 have done 2 GU utes with 40" mtr's. One was white and one was Grey. Not sure what suspension set up they had though.

Procomp tried out my 44's on 15 x 14 rims, on their competion GU tray. The Diesel turned them no worries!
It ran a 7" lift, with 1" coil spacers, and a lot of fender trimming on the front. They would have rubbed, no doubt there, but smaller 38's or 40's would have been a snack. Even 42's would have been ok I guess, if it had of ran longer bumpstops, to limit articulation. Not a problem on a Mud runner or Beach goer.

I got a mate matt who runs 38.5 boggers on a gu wagon. It has 7" tough dog suspension and no body lift. No sway bars too. It has great articulation and the rubber fits well. Only had to cut a little bit of plastic flare and metal up front. A big turbo is about to go on to help turn em. Cheers

I run 38.5 boggers on my gu ute sometimes(woodpecker)
4"suspension 2"body all that has to be done is cut a small amount
from the front guard behind the tyre.or maybe you could move the diff forward a little.

G'day

How do you put pictures on here?????

Anyway Pete here I bought the greyish GU from Duncan. It has a 4" Suspension and a 3" Body Lift, so 7" :D.

We have just bought 42" super Swampers and it runs ok for the few times we have taken it out. We have some problems with the mud flaps catching so we'll take them off.

thanks for the replys, i wanna go a 7" suspension lift as im not a fan of bodylifts. well its gonna be registered as standard then i will fit the suspension and tyres, ive been driving a 60 series with 6" lift and 35s for about 5 months as a daily driver and never looked at twice by cops so im hoping it will be all good

Oh sorry to hear about that well just for you here you are.

The first one is with the tyres that it came with, the second is after the 42's were put on with our eldest daughter and the third is well no need to say anything...

They look factory, but are a lot bigger, they extend into the door opening, touch the repeater lamp etc.
Thanks anyway.
