Not sure why, but can't find 1st thread. All pix were lost anyway.
If you have some specific questions, I can try to answer or supply a photo or two in the thread.
It's a mates zook, and some things I'm not allowed to publicize

Thanks Mate
It looks like the SR20DET will be a very big job, (understatement)!
I thought there maybe a Gearbox combo that may match up to not have too redo the Tunnel, Trans case, etc. But Im tipping that it would have some big ponies (HP & $$) once it was done! Im still keen to find out what I can if anyone has anymore info. Sounds like the Manual Nissan Gearbox is shorter??

The 4AGE T50 gearbox is 680mm long where as the SR20 (from memory) is approx 850mm long.
A good write up on all 4A RWD can be found here

My mate originally had the motor in a swb zook, with a manual.
The manual was a hybrid of two Nissan boxes to achieve the shortness.
If you don't wish to modify floor pans or tunnels or firewalls, there are better choices of engines.
SR20's have a good reliability rep and more grunt than an amourous pig tho,

Not sure which 2 boxes, but am sure motor half was sr20's own part, with possibly just the rear section/extension housing from pulsar.
He learned this info from a specialist wrecker in Lilydale.
He still runs Sierra diffs, from a Widetrack, with 4:6 Vitara centres/ratios.
He hasn't had any breakage issues, but having an auto in latest zook goes a long way towards this.
So as long as you treat the zook t-case with respect, it should be fine, and I reckon toy diffs will probably cope.
But I have no real knowledge on that.
If you want a go fast racer, a zook is a poor start, though

Going buy the numbers I can find on the net the SR20DET & 4AGZE have almost the same Torque and KW. Its just that the SR has more easy to buy bolt ons for xtra HP at a later date.
Id be happy to go Auto if needed.
Yer Hilux Diffs, with 4.8's. Zuk Trans case with a Rockhopper or Gearmaster. And run about 33 or 34 Simex.
Just had a call from a bloke who has a 4AGZE motor, 165ks on the motor includes, loom, ecu, intercooler, start & Alt. Plus 2xgearboxes, 5spd & 4spd. For $1900 ono. He sounds very keen to sell. Anyone need one??

I have a ca18det and box to suit ( with 16psi on tap ) in my zook its the exact same work as sr20det as they are interchangable, it is a lot of work and you have to be commited to the bone but the power is huge it will keep up if not in front with a r32 skyline (rb25det) with 15psi to about 140km then i have no more gears and he hits 4th gear and says bye but its got to be around a 12/13sec car and when it comes to offroad i do a big rough hill climb in low range and 2/3rd low boost 5psi and feather it, it will do it no worries and thats with zook 1lt transfer,nt diffs, standed wheels, no lockers, as for gear boxes use a skyline rear half with the sr bell housing it makes it 80mm shorter than the sr one wish i knew that earlier as for breakage Ive spun the diff housing twice off the mounts that attach to the springs tear them of the houseing losing all oil but never the centre's let go figure if you want more info ask

Would you use a SR20 or do they simply not fit? Did you have too cut n shut the Firewall & Gearbox tunnel?
What code for the gearbox/Bellhouseing??

an sr20 in seirra is a lot of work, and i dont no how you would go in a swb, due to such a short rear shaft.
its a expensive oporation esposialy a sr20det buyiny the motor is the ezy part depemding on how much you can do your self.
I dont mean to be rude but if your asking if you can do it your self you probaly are not ready.
but the benifts are good there is no substatute for torqe than cubes, hp is a different keatle of fish.
a 4agze is cheaper and ezier and pushes a seirra around fine and thier super charger helps in the torqe department.
the 4agze will get a mod plate a lot quicker with less drama.
your call

A few of my mates in there drift cars used a Z32 300zx gearbox or a R33 box its heaps shorter.
I cant tell you on how much shorter the box is, but from memory its about 200mm shorter,
I wouldnt use a 4AGE box, if you wonted to use a toyota gearbox i would use a early model supra box which is steel cased and hell strong!!!!!

as for the 300zx's if you are doing a conversion with one of these use a navara box its bolt sraight in and puts the shifter something like 300mm forward it doesnt change lenth of box though
