Outer Limits 4x4 Board

ok guys im not much of a mechainc but i can work out most things and get by fixin them myself. on the way home for a drive from mackay to brissy i had a wheel bearing collapse but had to get home so kept driving yea i know bad idea. anyway i got home pulled her down to find the bearing was pretty much gone and the lockin hub was farked. but wat i need to know is how to remove the part of axel that comes off the cv im talkin bout the short end that all your lock nuts and shit go on to. if any one can help out at all it woudl b much appreciated.

what are you driving?

Do you have the C.V out and are trying to remove the axel from the C.V itself, or are you talking about the c.v itself?

you mean the knuckle spindle?, the part the bearings ride on, and which has the thread on the end which accepts the locking nuts.

There is about 8 bolts directly behind the hub. Take these off an give it a tap (gasket holds pretty well).

sorry guys its a 80 series na ive got that sleeve part off wif the 8 bolts but once u get inside there uve got your axel and cv i just need to know how to get the actual short end of the axel that comes out the end of that sleve that accepts the bearing ands o on off from the cv

you need to rotate the cv so that the flat part of the bell is at the top then the cv and inner axle will slide out.

if you mean the outside end of the cv remove whatever was in the centre of your wheel either a drve flange or locking hub in which case you will find a circlip and your wheel bearing nut and locking tabs.take a look in there and you will soon work it out.sorry for the vague explaination but it will get you started.
