Thoughts on how much body lift and what trans tunnell mods

ok, so my next question regarding the soon to be zook project

To refresh everyones memory, commo V6 with t400 and lt230

Going into a 1ltr zook

I want to keep this as low as possible, will run 37s, coil overs etc, and will want a small amount of body lift to bring the body higher than the chassis and throw some sliders on.

What amount of body lift will be needed to keep the above drive train as close to level with the bottom of the chassis rails, and do you think the trans tunell will be able to be modded to fit or will it be better to cut it out and start again?

Sorry for 99 questions, zooks are new to me and I would rather get some oppinions from the experts instead of truying to reinvent the wheel

Thanks

I actually worked this out when i had a similar idea.

From memory i needed 3" body lift and a big hammer.

I'll see if i can find my calculations and measurements tonight.

if you want a low CG just cut the tunnel out and make a new one to fit
same with the sliders cut the sills 45 degrees then tuck the sliders up
this is what i would do any ways ... depends if you want to chop it up that much though

I will be chopping a rather large amount off the car, a bit more wont hurt

I definatly dont want 3" of B/L thats for sure, so a new trans tunnell will be the only way I would say, I reaaly dont want thge body any more than 2" higher, 35mm would be nice

Just forget the bodylift, they suck :). 45 the sills and build your sliders and exo cage to suit.

neither do I I dontunderstand what they realy achaive that a gaurd chop wont, but in this case I am a realist, there is a hell of a lot more drive traion to fit in there, and I want the belly as flat as possible, also I need some where safe to run water piped for the rear mount radiatior and leads for a battery without the risk of damage and without having them in the cab

next issue, the zook is a hard top / back, will be uted, but I am thinking it would be good to lose the roof for cage room given my stature  if I remove the roof then the b pillar is useless and frankly in the way, has anyone got a car registered without a roof and pillard? obvuoisly a full cage will be fitted so rollover protection is fine.

Look at a soft top body, all these pillars bolt on and off. Might be a able to design your cage around this, then just bolt the B-pillar on the keep the RTA fawkers happy.
