hey guys I'm new to these sierra's
i bought one dirt cheap with a dud motor in it
i have a g13b from a swift that i have changed the cam and water pump dizzy etc so it will all bolt in and up to the sierra stuff
my question is the clutch and flywheel the same between both motors ??
the clutch on the replacement looks to be in very good condition were as the one in the sierra is pritty well nackered can i save time and money and leave the swift one in there ??
i will be looking at a heavy duty one down the track but i would like to get it all running and regoed first.
thanks

hey mate,
you will need the sierra clutch plate, the gti is a different spline count so the clutch wont fit on the input shaft of the gearbox.
best use the sierra flywheel/clutch/pressure plate, makes it a lot easier in the long run

dizzy im using a mazda Rotor button and dizzy cap off a 1986 B6 Turbo motor (same as the 89 imported familia, found on our domestic model Ford TX3 turbo, Ford Capri Turbo,Mazda GD 626, BF 323 Turbo )
I bored out the rotor button to 18mm i think it is to fit the standard centre insert from a GTI rotor button, so it locks into place on the GTI dizzy (beaver700 did this differently by manufaturing his own center insert)
Slighlty bored out the Mazda dizzy cap a little (it has little grooves which need to be removed) and it fits straight on
As for the pump, not sure what your talking about?Stanbdard GTI Oil, Water pumps are still used, the water pipe out the back of the water pump is replaced with a sierra unit, as is the engine mounts (obviously) the sump and oil pickup also need to be replaced with sierra units to allow diff clearance (unless you have a massivly lifted/sprungover truck)
Anymore help let us know
Ben

hey dude, im also running 2+2+2, the g13b GTI motor is 1.3 and you can't use the standard front wheel drive sump, a 1.6 (g16*) sump should bolt on and be sweet thoguh
