if it sounds like a screaming girl when the clutch pedal is depressed, good chance its the bearing

be staionary vehicle in gear and engage the clutch, noise should be heard. Now drive off if it dissapears its spigot bearing if its still there its thrust. if no noise is heard while stationary, vehicle in gear and clutch engaged then you have a noise in your gear box or at least further down the drive train

sounds like your thrust bearing dude. depending on the life of the clutch might be worth your while doing the entire kit

if the noise can be heard with the vehicle running in neutral with ur foot off the clutch it is the bearing on the input shaft into the gearbox, if the noise is heard with foot on the clutch then its your thrust bearing

it can be the thrust bearing all the time, either way. if its the spigot bearing it will go away once you start driving
