Took the carbie off the Suzi and found some water in the fuel. (I now officially hate :bad-words: carbies)
Question is wat to do, I've been told metho in the tank will help,
has any one tried it, and does it actually work? If so how much mefo to fuel?
Or just run the fuel low and fill up again then hope for the best.
Thanks Pep

Pep,
the only way of getting all the water out of the system is to actually drop the tank out, and drain it. it is not that hard to do. You will find though, that you may have water in the filters as well. As for adding Metho, about a cup to the tank is about enough, and it does work, but not as well as giving it a full clean out.

Thanks zook92, I was afraid that i'd probably have to drop the tank and give it a full clean
(probablly wouldn't hurt anyway).
I've just replaced all the filters, but i dont think that a fuel filter stops the water getting through.
I don't believe there is a lot of water I'll drop a bit of metho in it for now and look at cleanning
the tank over a weekend, as I'm sick of working on it at the moment. :x

Some zook tanks have a drain hole on the base.
If so, just need to drain off a litre or so. Best done after it has sat for a while.
If not, bummer, but maybe stick a drain hole in for the future?

I'll have a look for a drain, but if it doesn't have one
i'll put on in when i drop tank.
Thanks that's a bloody great idea

I have actually used 1L of metho in 35L of fuel in the Feroza and never had a problem with water since.

i don't know if theres any long term side affects though.

Update (if anyone cares)
I put about 250ml of metho to about 20l of fuel
screwed in the mixture (she was runnin rather rich)
Now no more bad smell or smoke and idleing at about 1000rpm smoothly,
for the 1st time in about 2 weeks the suzi's runnin great again
So i dont really know if it was the metho or the mixture but either way i'm a happy man
But i still hate carbys
Thanks Guys
