Twin EL Falcon Thermo Fan Installation

Crew,

The GQ gets (very) hot towing the Jayco up over long hills and than cools back down after peak of hill.

To eleminate any risk to the engine I have been told that the EL Falcon twin fan set up will cool the radiator in these situations very quickly and if fitted with individual on/off switches can be utilised in winter months and water crossing's where one or both fans can be switched off.

If any forum members have installed these fans , could I have an "idiots Guide to Installation of twin thermo fans".

Thank's

Slacks creek radiator found the fan coupling was very low on oil and said that this could be a cause , I have the oil and instructions.

Will fix this weekend and test.

definately would fix the thermo coupling on you car . i had twin 14 inch thermos on a gq petrol and still had problems occasionaly . my friend had a gq turbo diesel with twin el fans and used to get warm on any long hill under boost swapped back to the original fan and he fixed the thermo coupling re fileed it and all fixed. best to stay with the standard fan it puts out way more air flow than even the twin 14 s i had.

None cool as good as the viscious fan assembly.

the twinthermos wont solve the problem when towing.

I learnt this via towing my buggy around with my old GQ which had the twinthermos on it.

Radiator flush, thermostat replacement etc are ideal towards improving your cooling system.

When the fan clutch shit itself on my Rodeo I wasn't going to pay the $400+ ripoff for a new one so I bought an aftermarket one which shit itself within 3 months. I got a replacement under warranty and the shit itself within 3 months too so I got my money back and installed an electric fan with a manual switch.
It's only a 14" but it's a front mount off a BMW (made by Seimens) and its so grunty I had to use a 70A relay and a 50A fuse as a 30A kept blowing, and yes, it loads up the alternator as it winds up and wiring is big enough is big enough for it.

Although I hardly have to turn it on (no traffic lights or long waits in my town :D ) when I do have to use it the gauge drops to normal in less than 30 seconds.
I mostly have to use it when it's in 4wd, especially low range.
It'll do until I fix the original fan clutch which is an Aisin brand and can be pulled apart for new fluid.
Not all electric fans are bad. I've also gone through mud which doesn't affect it.
