i changed my fuel filter recently and put another in just before the fuel pump.. sorted mine running erratically. might have some crud in your tank..
when was the last time you changed the filter?
i also ran some carby/fuel line cleaner stuff and that helped tons.. (do this before fuel filter replacement so the old one picks up all the crap.)
F10 it was called and its blue from One Stop Auto.. bout 13 bucks.

very common.
The small idle jets block easily.
The fuel needs to be kept very clean.
An extra fuel filter between fuel pump and carby (as the fuel pump ages bits of diaphragm come off and block the jets) , and an inline efi type filter in place of original is what I have done to solve this.
Cleaning tank helps, drain out any water or mud in the tank.
I replaced mine as it was rusted inside, also causing an issue.
I then re-coed the carby and have never had a problem since.
But to be safe I throw fuel system cleaner in the tank occassionaly, and carry a can of carby cleaner.
And a cup of metho in tank can help with small amounts of water probs.

This happens in mine but toch wood it hasn't happend for a while!

For a quick fix take the part of the top of your carby from the air intake, Then rev it and stick your hand over the carby, do this a couple of times and your hand will be covered in crap but it will be all unblocked!
