Hi there,

A couple of times a week when I start my rocky there appears to be a short across my battery. There is a spark and small puff of smoke on the +ve terminal of my battery and my clock will reset itself to 1:00.

Usually on the 2nd attempt to start, the engine will turn as usual.

I've checked the battery and it seems fine - anything else I can check myself before heading to an auto-electrician?

Are you 100% sure the battery terminal clamps are secured properly? Try removing and cleaning the terminals (and inside the clamps) to make sure you have a good connection.

Thanks fellas,

I replaced a dodgy looking terminal clamp and now it seems to be starting perfectly.
