Fuel Smell in Hilux

Post by Grublux »

Asking this question on behalf of my old man.
He has a 93 dual cab petrol Hilux and every now and then it gets the smell of fuel in the cab. He has had his mechanic check it over and he said he can't find anything but the smell still comes and goes.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or would know what could be the cause/fix.
Thanks

i had the same problem, albeit with a VP crummadore that only seemed to occur when i filled it to the brim. after a few hours, it would dissipate. i too coultn find what the problem was and just lived with it.

I had a similar problem recently with my 80 series petrol. It turned out to be fuel injector seals. I got the smell more after idling at traffic lights etc.
