tach input for 70 series

I am looking at putting in a remote start for a 1990 Landcruiser, 70 series. It has the 2L-TE, 4 cylinder turbo diesel. I am looking to buy the Presige APS 56 since I do not want an alarm, just remote start and maybe the remote door lock. I have chased down all of the wiring with regards to the ignition, brake, glow light etc. The one I cannot sort out is the tach input. This has a factory tach in the dash. Does anyone know where the tach signal comes from on this diesel? I tried looking on the back of the gauge. There is a wiring clip plugged in with 12 wires. Could I tap into one of these? I wrote down the wiring colors if that would help. I have read around that it could come either from the alternator or the injector pump. Anyone have this engine that knows where the signal comes from?

Thanks.

IIRC it's on the bellhousing, couldn't be 100% though sorry.

The signal is taken from the flywheel. The sensor is mounted on the bellhousing.
