I have two questions

In the golve box it gives the stock pajero size tyres
215sr15
7.00 16lt

-what are these in inches
-How big over stock in QLD can you go (with out engineer) is it still 50mm?

My 215 r15's are about 28 inches with a tape measure, woefull ... but it just means I have an instant 1.5" lift when I put on the 31's

So as a guide, 28-29 Inches. And general consensus seems to be that 50mm is the rule.

7.00R16 work out to about 31"... although technically they're a 30", it's 30" + tread gotta love those truck diametere tyres.

So 31"s are completely legal, 32"s are of questionable legality.

QLD transport modification rules say you can only go 15mm above the largest diameter on the placard and 25mm less than the smallest diameter available. 30" would be the largest legal size

They are very restrictive regarding diameter, however width wise you can go 1.3 times the widest tyre on the placard, and 1.5 times the widest if the vehicle has front and rear beam axles. Go figure

yep definitely 15mm bigger in QLD and an engineer makes no difference in QLD...the rules are the rules here im afraid

Nope..... that size on tire rack was 7.00R15.... add another inch to that so 30.5"

777mm = 30.6"

So 31" is perfectly legal (normally about 30.6"). Some 32" tyres will also be legal, if below 31.2" - especially 32" metric equivalents like 265/70/16.

So in summary, 265/70/16, 275/70/16, 245/75/16, 31x10.5x15, would be QLD legal based on a 7.00R16.

Which just shows you there's no proper metric equivalent to the cool 8.25 and 9.00 sizes.

hahahah bloody rules

ive just put my deposit on 32'(really 33) pedes
but ill keep the old 31s for road stuff, ireckon the pede noise would drive me crazy

as much of my knoledge they dont realy inforce tyre sizes as long as it is not redulics i have 33s on my lux and get pulled over all the time (i dont think the cops like me oh well ) i have had up to 35s on and they diddent pull them up in a defect check i think you will be fine with 32s
