Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi

A mate has a 84 Jackaroo 4 cyl Petrol with a cooked motor. I was wondering if the motor is the same as the izuzu motor that was in the early gemini's as I have a good motor, they look quite similar.

Any experance?

If the jackaroo motor has a steel rocker cover it should have a g200z which is a 2 litre the gemini has a g161z which is a 1.6 litre. you might have to change the sump to clear the diff and the clutch is bigger on the g200z. Those motors are pretty cheap to fix.

Thanks you don't know if the bellhousing bolts up between the two?

yep they bolt up the same. it's a common swap to repower a gemini

uncle had a 1.6 in a jackeroo it was uterly gutless and unreliable.
