Hey Guys Im only new to this site but i have an important question to ask.
My sierra stock 1.3 engine has just crapped itself and i need to replace it. I would like to upgrade maybe to a 1.6 but it doesn't really matter. Anyhow i just wanted to know which engine out of any sort of car would be the easiest and most reliable engine with the least modification to install. I don't want to put another 1.3 sierra engine in because im over it. I got a price for a stock one today and they wanted $1500 which is way out of my price range. I was thinking maybe a corrolla engine but im not sure whether they will bolt up to the gearbox and tranny. I also don't want to go down the EFI path because im not very good with wiring.

Thanks Guys all the help i can get would be great. :D

I would probably sugest a barina/ swift 1.3l engine.

Also re using of all sierra inlet carb exhaust etc....If your lucky a swift/barina will already have the right angle dizzy, otherwise a cam swap is needed as firewall clearance will be an issue....My swift motor has multi v belts, so need to use swift alternator etc. swifts have higher output and are usually cleaner at the wreckers. swifts use thermo fans, and sierra fan don't fit on the pulley. our prez turned up a simple alloy adaptor for me, prob solved.
