can you just whack a 3" exhaust on the back of your turbo or do you need to widen the flange at the back of the turbo before you put the exhaust on. i was quoted $700, to widen the back of the turbo flange and a 3" ehaust. is that a good price or keep looking. BTW its for a diesel patrol swb

on 60s it needs to be widened to 3 inch from 2.5/2.25 but can be done simply if you just and paste a little bit. dump pipe to back of car can be 150 for a press bent 3 inch to nearly 2G for a mandrel bent taipan system.

I recently paid $540 for 3" mandrel bent from the dump onwards.

I made my own with some pipe, a mandrel donut, a bit of flexi truck exhaust pipe and a straight through muffler.
All up cost about two hundred bucks and a bit of time on the angle grinder and MIG.
It was a bit tricky fitting a 3" past all the IFS crap under the Lux.
I took to my orig dump pipe with the angle grinder and die grinder and made it 3" right from the flange.

I paid $500 for mine on a 110.

Def90 paid $350 for his on his 90.

So the price should sit somewhere there.

Go see Sandy at aus4wd.

I'm sure he'll do it and will be cheaper and at the same time up the boost and fuel for not much more...

I dont know if the dumpipe makes a difference or not, but I made a new one anyway... At the end of the day the whole 3" system DID make a difference.

Mandrel or press-bent??? Got quoted $380 for a press-bent 3" for my 110.

everyone says not to bother with a press bent because its more restrictive, especially on a turbo diesel.

go with the mandrell

ive been in/driven cars with press bent and mandrel..... wow what a shock you cant feel the differance. both landcruiser 2H aftermarket turbos running 12 pound. even the noise was the same. 2.75 inch is still plenty of flow for a 4L turbo.

Thats because 2h's run out of breath after 3000rpm. They could flow that amount of exhaust through a Macca's straw. Just kidding.

If you have got the cash, go for the mandrel system. More scope for improvement down the track.

when your working it out I reckon press bent on a 4b wouldnt make shit difference, its not a performance rig... but does in price
