Hi outback_lux, they shouldn’t burn out the loom but if you haven’t fitted a suitable relay set-up, they will burn out your headlight switch in a very short time.

Plus, if the wiring is on the thin side, the quality of the light will not be at it’s best.

Cheers.

If you are that way inclined, Pirhana make a loom to carry higher currents outside the OEM loom (WAAAY safer and easier if you toast the loom). Well worth it if you are considering anything above 100/75's. The step up from 60 watt standard high beam globes to 130 watts more than doubles the current required to drive them, and doubling the current through the loom increases the voltage drop along its length, meaning the globes don't get the full 14 volts giving dull globes anyway.

Best first step is always to upgrade the wiring (does wonders even to the 65/55 globes).

I presume you mean these will be in your main headlights. If so, then stick with 100 watters and get a decent set of driving lights.

If for no other reason, you'll soon get sick of having to replace bulbs waaay too frequently running the 130's.
