Pajero Wont rev

Gday all, I am new and have been put on to the forum form a friend. I have a 1992 2.8 turbo diesel. It revs to 3000 rpm then no more and when I approatch a hill it dies in the arse. If any one can give me an idea as to what to look for would be greatfull.

I don't own a diesel Paj, but have had a Nissan Safari diesel and had a similar problem. I had the diesel filter fill of gunk (needed replacing as it was an import), once replaced ran like a dream. With the filter full, it was starving for liquid and not revving past 3grand. All I can say is check your fuel lines. Hope this helps.
