Ive transplanted a 1.3 NT 1984 hardtop onto my 1.3 WT 1989 softtop chassis, and wiring the engine back up there are some minor differences which i need help sorting out.

What are these devices on the carby?

Problem is in the 84 it has one wire comin out, in the 89 it has two wires, how do i reconnect if at all?

This is 2nd device, what is it, do i need it and if so how do i connect it, as it doesnt have one on the old 84 engine carby.

1st 1 is idle cut off solenoid.
Not unusual for plug to be different on later models, but I believe works same way.

the other bit is part of the idle up process, for if lights are on, a/c etc.

I removed all those bits and fitted a hand throttle, so I decide idle speed myself.
It runs ok for a carby.

Idle solenoid shuts fuel supply when ignition is off..So wiring it should be basic...am not totally sure what 2nd wire is for, but my nt only has 1 wire.
Its wise to connect this unit.

Sweet so i can just unbolt the one out of older carby and shove in the 89 carby so wires match up?

Ill just leave the idle up one then too, it wont do anything with the diaphragm will it?

I'm 99% sure you can just change over the solenoid. yep.

I'm 98% sure there is one way valves in the vacuum lines, so shouldn't harm it.

There is many things on later models deciding when to idle up.
Like choke position, vacuum, temp, lights and blah blah.

all the idle up stuff can be unbolted and changed, too, if you decide ya want it.
