Ok, took my rear centre out today (pinion bearings badly worn -phucked- and i left it at the place, was told $440 for complete bearing kit for the whole diff, thought sounds ok!! halfway home the dude rings me to go back there, went back and he said the locker is blown aswell!! it was working fine up till i got a hole in the air line so i couldnt use it but that was only bout a week ago, so i havent been using the locker, he showed me why he thinks its blown, on the housing itself (inside the centre) theres 4 pins that go thru the locker and he can push them out with his fingers, is that meant to happen or have i somehow blown a locker without knowing it???

i think those are meant to be held in place with grub screws
if they have been loose they could of damaged the rest of the locker if not u might only need some screws go to arb though to find out

which shop did you take it to?

which model locker is it and how old?

there are three cross shafts (one long, two short) which carry the spider gears, they are retained by dowels which are retained by air side cover (opposite to the gear side) housing, so if the air side cover is removed then the dowels (ARB calls them 'cross shaft retaining pins') slide can slip out. it may not be broken but unless the guy has air locker experience it can look like it is broken as most diffs use screws to retain the cross shaft(s).

pm me if you want more info.

cheers
