hi lift jack points on GQ

Dear all,
can you recommend any place that can be used to jack a GQ LWB with the standard bumpers. Or any mods that can be added/welded to provide a jacking point for the GQ. Currently I am using a jack mate to hook on to the rims. The stock steel bumpers are too thin to take the load, and they have already been dented from my trying. :?

there aren't any mate as you've already learnt! You should go for an aftermarket bullbar or custom bar of some sort and a custom rear bar. I was going to say some rocksliders, but going by where you're from maybe some sand sliders! :D Cos there wouldn't be a lot of rock would there?

I was afraid someone may say, 'buy new bumpers' and you are right rock sliders are little use here. Oh well, will wait and see if anyone has managed a cheaper alternative to replacing bull bars, as the bumpers that are stock are just fine for the terrain here.

Not many have hi lift jacks here, or winches. 90% of our offroad trips are dune trips. Few of us do have the hi lift jack, and we use it with the lift mate on the rims to jack the wheel up. Our common recovery issue is usually tire off the rim, and need to lift the wheel, and the jack is useful then, but the lift mate gets in the way of the tyre re-seating on the rim.
