Gday, pretty similar question to what i asked b4 (NT 84 Hardtop body and loom onto WT 89 Softtop chassis), the gearbox in the 84 has 3 leads coming off the gearbox and a resultant 3 plugs connecting into the loom, but since im using the chassis engine and gearbox from the WT 89, its geatbox has 4 leads coming off gearbox. I dont know what they are for and cant begin to imagine, as theres no indicators for what gear youre in, no gearbox temp, etc...
Question is what are they for, do i need them connected and if so how do i connect them to loom. I think i can just connect the 3 that are in same positions as on 84 box, but what about the 4th device on the box?

1 is reverse light switch.
2 of them are part of the emission control/fuel saving system.
In 4th and 5th with other varying factors they help lean out fuel at high speed. etc.
I remember a topic on this but haven't searched it.

I didn't have the senders and stuff fitted to my engine or body, so I just left them off, and removed them so it didn't look scruffy ;)

I imagine law may prefer them connected, depends who you ask and what year car will be on rego.

I've no idea what the 4th wire is, must be a wt thing.
Check out under someones bonnet, see where they go.
I'd bet car will run without it...99% sure
