Found this link to convert your 80 series electric window (Driver's only) from only auto down to auto up as well

I tried it on my and it works great.

When I pulled it apart I also found the contacts were extremely dirty. They all work a treat now.

Great mod.

Heres the link to Page 2 which shows the mod. Go back to page 1 for further. ( I also found that the photos are backward to Aussie specs so keep that in mind when doing it.

Thats such a handy little find, I think I'll be doing this soon!

Only thing that would top it off, is a delay on when the power cuts off to the windows, that way you can hit the switch while turning off the ignition and walk away, instead of waiting for the window to wind all the way up. And your passengers windows!!!

If you're using a turbo timer this is possible. Else you can buy a module to suit some alarm systems that will put windows up via remote control.

After speaking to a relative that is involved in car-audio retail, there is a kit available (possibly from jayar) that uses a relay and a cap/resister to alter the time delay, similar to an interior light delay, that would do the trick. Turbo timer would be a slightly more costly option, but would do the job also. Only reason I don't hook it up through the alarm, is that I like to sometimes leave the windows slightly open in hot weather, when the car is parked in a safe enough location.

did thisd mod myself last weekend. it really only takes 15 minutes. i took apart the switch assembly to check the contacts, and some had fair bit of carbon buildup. took maybe extra 20mins as was fiddly job.

a 1N4001 diode will do the trick

yeah, dick smiths or jaycar or active electronics or tandy (do we still have tandy in aus?) or repair place - eg tv repair

cost will be less than 50c i reckon. found mine in bottom of toolbox
