I've heard of a chevy truck around melbourne with a similar setup - apparently the turbo is way back nearly behind the cab!

Only one step further than the APS really-low-mount setups (among others);

The v6 Tacoma (hilux) kit looked awesome but i wonder how many cup's of coffee you could make waiting for the system to boost up, i'd expect there to be a fair bit of lag, but they must work ok, otherwise why would someone throw that sort of $$$ at some already quick cars?

Wonder how the'yd cope with an intercooler as well?

I suppose it depends on what you want.

Throttle response will suffer - no doubt.

Outright power, for towing (for example) could be OK, with correct turbine and housing selection. General (moderate driving) driveability may be OK, again depending on turbo configuration. If you're after outright power, forget throttle response!

If you're organised enough to phone in your boost in advance, you'll be fine! :P

If it's all you can get, why not?

I'd love to see someone do a water crossing and see the housings after they have quick cooled. :roll:

After reading all I could re lag they say its not apparent..
Intercooler not req due to pipe lengths acting as cooler.

The vids dont seem bad either.

I don't see how it couldn't have heaps of lag - unless they all have antilag sysrems built-in (as fitted to rally cars) i.e. one cylinder misfires when foot off throttle so that fuel combusts in turbo and keeps turbo spooled.
