Powertrax locker Q's

Hey,

I have got a #1510 powertrax locker installed into one of my hemi's. not realising it was a front diff i did it to not a rear like i wanted. What needs to be changed and how hard is it to do a change it to suit a rear diff? Was only going to use a rear locker and leave front open.

I also have a rear centre here that is welded up. Other option is to put the welded in the rear and run locker up front?

What do you think.

Thanks

Nic

Stick it in the front for now, see if you like it.
Front will get you over more stuff than just rear (both is best of course)
If you do like it, maybe stick it in rear, or get another.
If you hate it, you may decide not want a rear...

Id just weld rear and lockright the front.
It will get less wear and tear on front, too, meaning less need to service pins etc on locker.

I use welded rear and lockrite front now.

Only difference front to rear diff is the side gears, ie bigger axles/splines ...but would be a pain to do....maybe the rock gods want you to have a front lock :D

I agree with Chris, the welded rear and locker in the front.

I'll be having 31 mudders under the zook, and not a dd, will do the city driving every now and again but not all the time.

From what i have read the more aggressive and bigger you cant notice it as much?

Not really different between auto locker and welded in my experience. Bigger tyres tend to dampen the effects out anyway. Auto-lockers are more correctly auto-unlockers, and in a lightweight car it doesnt take much to keep them locked , offroad or on the street.
